Our Mission |
 |
Patani Malay Human Rights Organisation (PMHRO) was founded in 2004 after the tragedy of Kerisek Mosque in Pattani Province, Patani. PMHRO is a legal organisation registered in Sweden.
Patani Malay Human Rights Organisation (PMHRO) is an independent, nongovernmental organization, supported by contributions from private individuals and foundations worldwide. It accepts no government funds, directly or indirectly. We foster links and work in partnership with different organizations around the world.
PMHRO works in Patani Raya, Southern Thailand and abroad to fight for basic freedoms and peaceful change at the local level; protect refugees in flight from persecution and repression; build a strong international system of justice and accountability; and make sure human rights laws and principles are enforced in Thailand. We fight to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect Patani Malay people from inhumane conduct, and to bring offenders to justice.
We investigate and expose human rights violations in Patani Raya,Thailand and hold abusers accountable.
We challenge the Thai government and those who hold power to end abusive practices and respect international human rights law.
Our website covers many aspects of our work and provides general information as well as material for the media, students, policy makers, lawyers and activists. If you would like more information please browse our site or contact us directly. |
